The Looking-Hourglass

The glass shows age
the absence of the youth
youth never knew it had

A reflection through time
as anticipations slowly percolate
to become remembrance

That sweet gravity of days empties
and fills the looking-hourglass
until the likeness is complete

We are all future passers-by
present only at the speed of time

Father, son, husband, friend and writer by day; asleep by night. Happily pondering the immortality of the crab wherever words are shared.
